Enon, La
| Just off Loiusiana Hwy. 16, near Enon you'll find the River Bend Campground.
As the name implies the campground is located in a "bend" of the Bogue Chitto River. As with many other campgrounds that are used year round (more than just a couple of times a year for festivals) the facilities are first rate. They have good hook-ups, shower house etc.
Come the middle of July and now the second week in October, the campground
is filled with the sounds of banjos, Many now famous bands have played River Bend. The Cox Family used to play every year until they started playing the larger festivals. The Varnados introduced The Stevens Family to our area. Bill Mounce and the Outlaws have played there often. The list goes on and on..... I'm always interested to see the new bands Jackie has each year. He has a track record for picking winners. As with all of the other festivals I attend, River Bend is a family oriented festival. No drugs, alcohol, or profanity. Just a good time Bluegrass style! |
