| Christmas in the Pines is a FREE admission show that is held the
first week in December each year at the Cooksey Family's Apostolic Campground
in Independence, Louisiana. It started out a few years ago with just a few bands and a few campers who wanted something to do after the festival season had ended. It has now grown to around 100 campers and over 20 bands participating. It is one of our region's biggest shows. Admission is FREE, however there is a small charge for camper hook-ups In case of bad weather, the show is held in a building designed to hold over 1200 people. Musicians and fans start arriving early in the week so there is usually open stage music from Monday night until the regular show starts on the weekend. Not only do most of the regional bands participate but several bands come from as far away as Florida and Texas to play. Christmas in the Pines has become a "DO NOT MISS" event for folks in our area.
